“We couldn’t be more proud that Ava has chosen Netflix as the home for her first animated series,” said Melissa Cobb, Vice President, Original Animation, Netflix. I cannot wait to go on this journey with this team and with you!” I wanted you to see yourselves in the pages of this dragon world – and now I hope you’ll be able to see yourselves on screen as well. I wanted the readers to feel that, too-that each of you is important and wonderful just as you are, and you can make a difference. When I started writing this series, I wanted to show that any dragon can be part of saving the world, no matter how shy or weird or prickly or overly enthusiastic they are.
He continued, “I knew the minute I met our showrunners, Dan Milano and Christa Starr, that they are funny, kind, super-nerd kindred spirits who 100% understand what I’m trying to do with the books. I hope some of my dragons grow up to be just like her!” “I am so immensely thrilled and grateful that Ava DuVernay is our Queen of Dragons (I’m pretty sure that’s the official title),” Sutherland said. “Ava is someone who saves the world every day without waiting for any prophecy to tell her what to do.

PhantomWhisperer the NightWing wishing you a yummy breakfast, unless you have water in your cereal instead of milk.Oscar nominee and Emmy Award winner Ava DuVernay has landed her animated family series, Wings of Fire, at Netflix. Also I really liked that they brought my fav ship back (btw it’s RiptNami)Īnyway that’s what I think of the book. And then the whole book just goes: “oh yay everyone meets each other, let’s go do something exciting in the NEXT book”, but after waiting for so long, it would have been almost impossible for this book to live up to my expectations, and the book wasn’t terrible either. So after years of waiting, we get a short anticlimactic explanatory book (in English that means: not very much action and just explaining stuff book). Don’t get me wrong, Dragonslayer was great and kept me entertained for a while (because its the longest book in WoF, with I think it’s like 500+ pages?) but like I was really hoping to read an actual book in the main series.
I really enjoy all the WoF books but this one… well first things first, this book took waaaaaaay too long to be made, and got delayed for so long, and then when we finally got a new book, it’s just Dragonslayer.
